I Try the Cookie Dough & Hot Chocolate at Hershey’s Kitchen in Times Square, NYC!

It’s been far too long since I was last in New York City so seeing the new stuff the Hershey Chocolate World, like the Hershey’s Kitchen, I had to see what they had to offer.

Location

Hershey’s Kitchen is connected to the Hershey’s Chocolate World store.

You can still access Hershey’s Kitchen through the main store entrance (vice versa) but you honestly cannot miss the entrance to the Hershey’s Kitchen because it’s so bright.

An address doesn’t appear for Hershey’s Kitchen but if you type it into Google Maps, it shows you how to get there [Gmaps].

I was actually disappointed because I saw online that they made delicious looking milkshakes and I completely missed out on those. The cashier told me they didn’t make them anymore but I still decided to try their hot chocolate and Cookies N Creme cookie dough.

There was a variety of cookie dough flavors at the store. I didn’t know what to pick! (〃^▽^〃) Considering the price, I decided to play it safe and get a cookie dough flavor that couldn’t go wrong no matter what. I’ve always like the Cookies N Crème bar so I picked that one.

Taste

It really tasted like a basic chocolate cookie dough to me. It reminded me of Oreo cookie dough. It tasted more like chocolate than anything else; it was pretty decadent. I felt there needed to be more white chocolate. I also felt that there was a lack of cookie bits. The texture at first was hard because it was kept cold but it became smooth after it warmed up for a while. Overall it was yummy; I enjoyed it.

Hershey’s Melted Hot Chocolate

Like I said before, they didn’t have the milkshakes available anymore. They only had this hot chocolate. I figured it might taste really good so I got it. I’ve had store bought powder Hershey’s chocolate milk and Hershey’s hot chocolate before but I figured it might taste a little different buying it from the brand name store.

Taste

It tasted like a normal cup of hot chocolate but with the distinct taste of Hershey’s chocolate. Compared to the Hershey’s powder or the syrup, the flavor of the Melted Hot Chocolate was closer to cocoa and very decadent. It had a deeper and sweeter flavor.

Would I buy this again? probably not.

What I really wanted was one of the milkshakes and I don’t see myself paying $7.95USD for cookie dough. The hot chocolate was great but I’m not super into hot chocolate. If there are new things to try at the next Hershey’s Chocolate World or if I return to this Hershey’s Kitchen I’ll definitely check it out.
