The moment I saw these Thai Lays Spicy Lobster Chips I thought, “oh no, not another fish flavored Lays”. There’s really a love for fish flavored snacks in Asian countries it seems.
The problem I have with these snacks is they typically have the same ingredients or taste too similar and nothing like the described flavor. I was really curious how they were going to replicate the taste of lobster because I doubted there was real lobster in the chips.

Taste
This tasted like fish sauce to me and not so much like lobster. From all the times I’ve had lobster, the taste of fish or sea is very light to me. The taste of lobster is a very subtle fish taste compared to regular fish or other seafood.
The texture of the chips surprisingly was similar to Pringles. The chips seemed to have been baked instead; this is only an assumption though. The chips did seem drier than usual. The spiciness has a bit of a kick.

Would I buy the Lays Spicy Lobster Chips again? Probably not.
I didn’t like much about these chips. They were dry and I wasn’t impressed by the flavor. I don’t think the taste was bad, but it was something I didn’t care for. I don’t really see myself buying this flavor of Lays again.
