Finding the new Japanese Kit Kat flavors can be difficult so I’m pretty excited that I found the new (モンブラン味キットカット) Mont Blanc Kit Kat flavor.

What is Mont Blanc?
Mont Blanc is a a chestnut puree cream dessert with whipped cream on top. The cream is made to look like string or pasta. The dessert is supposed to look like a mountain with a snowy peak, in this case Mont Blanc.
There are new variations that include a base of cake, cookie or pie crust. Sometimes the puree may be poured over merengue or whipped cream. Other variations include powdered sugar, merengue on top of the puree instead of whipped cream. The origin of the dish is said to be Italy but some also claim it was first made in France.
Taste
I’ve never had a Mont Blanc dessert so I can’t really compare if the flavor of the Kit Kat matches the dessert but I did like the Kit Kat flavor.
The Mont Blanc Kit Kat has a soft creamy and nutty flavor. Before I knew what Mont Blanc was I initially thought the Kit Kat tasted a lot like a light white mocha latte with a nutty flavor.
The flavor is good and I enjoyed this Kit Kat.

Would I buy the Mont Blanc Kit Kat again? Yes.
The Mont Blanc Kit Kat is worth buying again and maybe even using it to decorate a dessert. I think it would be interesting adding them to a Mont Blanc dessert recipe.
