I found this new Japanese Georgia Ice Cocoa on my way home at a random vending machine. I know it says Georgia Cocoa but the original company sells mainly coffee. During the winter season they release a couple different hot cocoa options as well.
Last time I had Georgia brand cocoa, it turned out to be coffee so I was excited to see they released iced cocoa now that the winter months are gone in Tokyo.
At first glance I actually thought it was a cookies and creme drink; that’s actually the main reason I checked out the vending machine. I was a little disappointed but still happy to see something new.

Taste
The Georgia Ice Cocoa tasted a lot like their hot cocoa. Georgia cocoa tasted rich but at the same time watered down. It’s good enough if you’re craving a cocoa drink with dutch cocoa, it definitely has the yummy taste, but it’s definitely missing that thick creaminess and decadence really good cocoa has. It tasted like cocoa that’s missing the most important part that makes cocoa great.

If someone new to Japan asked what cocoa they should drink if they had a sudden craving, I would perhaps recommend the Georgia Ice Cocoa. However, I think making cocoa at home is best to get that perfect cup for cocoa lovers out there.
