I was excited to buy this Tirol Melon Pan Chocolates (北海道ソフト ミルク&チョコ) not only because of the flavor but because of the price.
Normally I find the Tirol brand chocolates in decorated boxes so finding one of the bags was new to me. I have to say that like usual, the design did not disappoint. There’s something about the Tirol chocolate wrappers that makes you want to collect them; they’re always so stylish and fun to look at.
The plastic wrapping, versus the usual foil other brands use, gives Tirol chocolate lovers a better opportunity to collect each wrapper since they don’t ruin easily and aren’t dirty because of the chocolate.

What is Melon Pan (メロンパン)?
You’ve probably heard or had a Japanese melon pan before but don’t know for certain what it is. Melon pan is a pastry made with enriched dough with a cookie crisp dough cover. The bread is made to look like a melon hence the name. There are many varieties but the original is the most commonly known.
