Travel: New Deep Fried Unicorn Twinkie at the Wisconsin State Fair!

Taste

It’s greasy and sweet; it works really well for a Twinkie. The Twinkie is supposed to taste like cotton candy, which in my opinion it’s a hard flavor to make. At first I couldn’t taste it, as the Twinkie cooled down, I got a bit of a hint.

Texture

If you’ve wondered what the difference between a warm Twinkie and a regular Twinkie, I can confirm that. The Twinkie was slightly toasty on the outside but spongy, soft and warm on the inside. It practically melted in my mouth!

(⁄ ⁄>⁄ω⁄<⁄ ⁄) The glitter was unnoticeable as I ate, so it was only for aesthetics. The only problem was the boiling hot melted filling! I had to wait until it cooled to eat the Twinkie.

Appearance

I’ll admit, compared to the photo used for their flyer, the actual product wasn’t exactly the same. The photo shows that the Twinkie is thoroughly drizzled and sprinkled. However, the frosting drizzled on the Twinkie I received was a lot thicker and sloppier. Inside the pastry, the filling was pink.

It was $6 for 1 Twinkie on a stick.

Seems outrageous, but it’s fair food which tends to be pricier. The good thing is that most seasonal and specialty snacks were the same price. Deep fried Snickers were sold in the same booth for $6.
