Review: Premium Ghana Chocolate Muscat Grape (フルーツショコラ<マスカット)!

I found these Premium Ghana Chocolate Muscat Grape (フルーツショコラ<マスカット) along with the Yubari Melon chocolate. I’ve had Japanese green grapes before and they were delicious, especially in cakes. I thought these chocolates would taste just as good.

Japanese Shine Muscat Grapes

The Japanese Shine Muscat grapes were made by crossing Grape Akitsu 21 (cross of cultivar Steuben & the Muscat of Alexandria) and the European Hakunan (Cattacurgan and Kaiji) in 1988. Originally named “Grape Akitsu No. 23” but officially received the name Shine Muscat when registered in 2003.

Taste

I was disappointed. I was expecting a soft but sweet and refreshing flavor authentic to the real grapes but found that the grape flavored cream was a little more tangy than I would like it to be. I enjoyed the chocolate but I expected something different.

Compared to the Yubari Melon chocolates, I liked this one more because the muscat grape filling blended well with the milk chocolate.
